Natural Wines Tasting with Brian’s Wines

Join us on Thursday, 11th June as we launch our new natural wine list at The White Horse with a relaxed summer tasting, hosted by Brian O’Connor of Brian’s Wines.

Brian O’Connor runs Brian’s Wines, an independent wine importation business, wine bar and event space based at Plugd Records in Cork City.

Sourcing wines directly from independent winemakers across Europe, Brian’s Wines supplies some of the country’s most ambitious cellars and kitchens from its HQ on the Coal Quay. The project began in 2021 with the intention of bringing wines to Ireland that matched the culinary ambition of the modern Irish kitchen.

For this evening, Brian has selected five of his favourites from the warehouse as we reach the tilting of summertime. Each wine will be served with a small food pairing, canapé sized, chosen to sit alongside the glass and bring out its character.

These are wines that tell a story of the grit, determination and craftsmanship that goes into producing them, and why, despite the challenges, winemakers persist in working this way — hoping to produce a juice worth the squeeze.
