The White Horse Comedy Club – A monthly comedy club hosted by renowned comedian and Cork native Chris Kent in the venue Upstairs at The White Horse, featuring regular special guests. This time around, the club will feature guest host Ross Browne.

Karl Spain, Comedian, Writer, Actor

Karl spent most of 2022 and early 2023 as Kevin Bridges tour support for his Arena tour of the UK and Ireland.

Best known as a stand up comedian. Karl has had his own series on Irish Television called ‘Karl Spain wants a woman’ and also ‘Karl Spain wants to Rock’. Karl has performed stand up on stage and T.V all across the world , the United States, the Middle East, Australia, Hong Kong and even the UK.

Karl is a festival favourite from appearing at every Cat Laughs festival since 2002 to the Edinburgh festival , Just for Laughs in Montreal, festivals in Australia. He hosts the late night KARLnival at the Galway comedy carnival. Karl has also appeared at every Kilkenomics festival since it began, the worlds only Comedy/ Economics festival.

Karl has also worked for numerous charities from The Samaritans, Poppy’s Wheels, Stand up against Racism, the Irish Cancer Society and many more. He doesn’t like to go on about it too much. But if you mention it to him he will talk about it.

Every year he in Tullamore he teaches an wide array of locals Stand up comedy techniques as they put on a fundraiser show for local charities. Karl’s students have included Undertakers, Priest, Sport stars and even Government Ministers.

As a writer Karl has worked in a number of different realms from Situation Comedy (Sky Shorts) ,The Late Late Toy Show Topical News shows (like Republic of Telly and the Blame Game). Award shows (like the IFTA’S) and Karl has co-written the Olympia Panto. He has also written and co-written stand up shows for a number of other comedians. Shows which have been nominated and won awards.
