The Raines

Galway-based folk Americana trio The Raines are delighted to make their Ballincollig debut with an intimate performance at White Horse Bar on Friday, Nov 7th.

Known for their signature sound—rich vocal harmonies intertwined with rhythmic strings and deeply emotive lyrics—The Raines promise a captivating evening of music.

The trio comprises of Yvonne Tiernan (Vocals & Ukulele) who has toured the world with many bands, most significantly as lead singer with renowned Irish band ‘The Chieftains’, Ruth Dillon (Guitar & Vocals) who has toured and recorded with the legendary vocalist Dolores Keane and previously released three original solo albums, , and Juliana Erkkonen (Fiddle & Vocals) who has been at the forefront of the Americana music scene in Ireland for almost 20 years, recording 8 albums with her previous bands, and is known for her distinctive fiddle style which blends her Finnish classical roots with rich folk traditions.

The band released their acclaimed debut album Reverie in 2023. which received extensive airplay, was playlisted on RTE radio 1 for many weeks and boasts five No. 1 singles on the iTunes Irish Singer-Songwriter charts, a testament to their resonant songwriting and distinctive harmonies.

Fresh from an impressive string of Irish dates, as well as recently performing as special guests to Hot House Flowers, Mick Flannery and White Horse Guitar Club, the trio will be joined on the night by talented Brazilian musician Cesar Benzoni on mandolin and electric guitar. Together they will perform songs from the album as well as new material, and some intricate bluegrass tunes on fiddle and mandolin.
